Nice demo of Carl Perkin's original
and Beatles cover of this 50's classic.
It was one of my first recordings done
on my newly bought Fostex X-15 4 Track recorder
back in the late 1970's.
In fact I think it may have been my 2nd recording.
The machine really had great warmness , punch and depth
for a analog recorder , way much better than
than the digital recorders of today.
Since I was new to the game ,
I used a Sears children's guitar and as for the drum sound
I used a small garbage can with the mike inside of it
muffed up by a bunch towels and I banged it
with a huge plastic comb , plus it was recorded
in a very small bedroom that had a rugged carpet
which made the acoustics perfect for recording
a nice clean sound , amazing ,
I think it came out pretty good , Ha Ha !!!
This is the radio echo mix version.
There is a original clean version you can hear on this album too.
